(1848 1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised rightward facing profile of King Friedrich August, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of VERDIENST UM DAS FATHERLAND (SERVICE TO THE STATE), within a circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at
